youth with Autism & Special Needs




Learning Objectives:

Effective training methods will be discussed followed by a demonstration of equipment to ensure participation.

The importance of timely, sensitive  and accurate record keeping will be presented as a method to recognize individual differences and insight into the clients abilities, interests, potential and goals.

Define and distinguish between corrective, developmental and adaptive fitness programs. Strategies for ongoing and effective communication between client, trainer, physicians and community support groups to ensure credibility and longevity of a fun safe physical fitness program.

 

Brief Overview:

Physical Fitness is just as necessary and important to individuals with physical, mental and social challenges as it is to the person without disabilities. Explore a unique and proven fitness and wellness program that promotes inclusive play, developmental, corrective and adapted exercises and functional motor skills for youth and adults with Autism and Physical and Mental Challenges. The program will assess and identify strengths and weaknesses by analyzing posture, core and movement capability.


Continuing Education Credits (CECs):

This webinar has been approved for one contact hour by ACSM, and AKTA. 
Current members of the association receive complimentary credits after completing post-webinar survey. 
Non-members may purchase them for $25 after completing post-webinar survey. 
Payment must be received before CEC can be issued.
